Samantha is a Study Support Assistant within the Disability and Wellbeing Team and is about to embark on her 3rd year of higher education with the BA (Hons) Inclusive Practice and Integrated Working (progression route). Samantha has had a varied work history in both the public and private sectors working in legal teams, Sales and Marketing and Health. However, after having children she decided to change careers to work in education. Since making the move she has worked in various educational settings supporting students with Special Educational Needs and this is an area that she hopes expand her knowledge in, beginning with the UoS beginners’ course in British Sign Language.
Samantha is currently the Chair of the Broom Hill library friends' group and this involves running regular meetings, fundraising, supporting community projects and managing the finances of the group. The group is currently looking to develop a project to create a literary walk of wonder through Broom Hill woods starting and finishing at the library and this will involve sourcing additional funding to add to the money already raised
