Jason started out freelancing for titles such as Autosport and the Nottingham Post while studying a Magazine Journalism MA at Nottingham Trent University.
He joined Archant Suffolk in September 2014 as a trainee reporter at the East Anglian Daily Times, Ipswich Star and weekly titles, passing his senior exams in August 2016.
In March 2018 Jason became the BBC-funded Local Democracy Reporter for Suffolk, covering local politics and public sector organisations, with his reporting used by all local media, including BBC Radio Suffolk, EADT and Ipswich Star, Suffolk Free Press and Bury Free Press, Suffolk Live, Nub News, ITV Anglia and Greatest Hits Radio among others.
He made the switch to a trade title in June 2022, reporting on the further education sector for FE Week.
Jason has also freelanced for various motorsport outlets during the last decade, including Autosport, Motorsport News, Race Department, Formula Stream and Formula E.
His move to the University is his first foray into communications, and will be focused on sharing stories from campus and boosting the profile of the University.
Jason is keen on books, music, motorsport and discovering new places in sunny Suffolk.
