Faye graduated in 2014 and began working as a midwife at Southend University Hospital. Across the last 10+ years as a midwife, Faye has worked clinically in all areas of maternity, including working collaboratively between community and the midwife-led birthing unit (MLBU) to provide continuity of care. She then progressed to co-ordinator of the MLBU. Faye achieved her MSc in Advanced Midwifery Practice in 2020, with her major project focussed on improving informed consent for women being offered an external cephalic version, by evaluating and implementing a new informed consent tool (she can bore you with the detail later!). Faye left the NHS for an exciting opportunity working for a charity that supports families with their health and wellbeing, to get babies and children off to the best start. She developed and set up their antenatal education service, which is now being delivered throughout the UK.

Faye is module leader for the 2nd year complexities module (and a skills module for the short course BSc). Faye is experienced with advanced midwifery skills, including cannulation, suturing, scrubbing, post-operative / HDU care and is a Hypnobirthing practitioner.

Faye has always enjoyed supporting student and junior midwives, assisting their practice development and delivering pop-up emergency scenario workshops within the clinical environment.

Faye has worked as an associate lecturer for Anglia Ruskin University, Coventry University and the University of Worcester supporting Midwifery BSc and MSc programmes, and now is part-time at the University of Suffolk, working Wednesdays - Fridays. On the other days of the week, Faye supports expectant parents via antenatal classes and practitioners via public health training.

Teaching on BSc Midwifery and BSc Midwifery (shortened programme).

Faye has taught the 'Labour, Birth and Postnatal Additional Care' module in Mauritius in July 2024.

Faye is a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Faye has achieved the status of Fellow D2 (FHEA) via the Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice.
