David is a Detective Chief Superintendent in Suffolk Constabulary. He joined Suffolk in 2005 having spent 11 years in the Metropolitan Police. He was previously the Temporary Assistant Chief Constable for 2 years. David has a wealth of experience in both Detective and uniform policing and is currently the head of the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Protective Services Command.
David leads a Command of over 750 personnel working in sone of the highest risk and complexity areas of policing. He has responsibility for major crime, serious and organised crime and covert policing, forensic services, intelligence, cybercrime, armed and roads policing and emergency planning. He has previously held the lead for Serious Sexual Offences, Child Abuse and Domestic abuse.
David has Masters in Business Administration from the University of Suffolk and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Reading. David has worked closely with a range of academic institutions throughout his carer on areas such as rape investigation, gang violence and child sexual exploitation.
