Corretter Ongus (CBM, DPSM, IBM & MBA) comes from a Luo Community in Kenya. She attended her primary and secondary education in the county of Kisumu, before relocating to Kenya’s capital city Nairobi to start her higher education where she obtained a certificate in Business Management (CBM) and a higher diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management (DPSM) from Kenya Institute of Management.
In 2011 Corretter moved to England to continue with her studies in the field of business where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Business Management (IBM) and later a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from York St John’s University in York, United Kingdom. In 2016 Corretter returned to her home country Kenya after a successful completion of her degrees where she worked in private institutions on different capacity, in project management, administration and organisational operations.
Coming from a diverse nation, Corretter has always been keen in understanding the people’s and organisational culture, people’s beliefs, and language, more recently how all these translates to the growth of the country’s economy.
Corretter is undertaking her PhD in the field of financial investment, with the aim of understanding the degree to which culture, language, and belief shapes investments decision in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania), at the University of Suffolk, Suffolk Business School, under the direct supervision of Dr Tom Vine and Dr Kay Maddox-Daines.
Corretter works at the University of Suffolk as an Academic Administrator for Life Sciences. She oversees the courses; BSc (Hons) Bioscience (with foundation year), BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Human Health (with foundation year), BSc (Hons) Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation Science (including Professional Placement), BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science (with foundation year) and Life Sciences (Regenerative Medicine).
