Prior to working in Higher Education Claire worked in the commercial marketing sphere implementing social media & digital strategies. Using her wealth of digital marketing, social, branding and content experience with national brands including Dunelm, intu shopping centres and Preloved.com, Claire utilises these practical skills to encourage, develop and support students within their studies. Claire is also an entrepreneur. In 2014 she was the founder of a co-working and events venue in Brighton. Super+Super was born from an idea of a collaborative space where you could work, learn and play. The venue consisted of coworking offices and a workshop space. This venture led to the creation of five published books available in Waterstones, Barnes & Noble & Amazon.com.

Claire is incredibly passionate about bringing real life industry news and trends into modules and giving students experiences to aid their employability. In 2021 Claire developed The Marketing Lab whereby our undergraduate students could have the opportunity to work on a real life marketing campaign supporting a local business. In 2024, Claire won a Teaching Excellence Award from the Academy of Marketing for the Marketing Lab initiative.

Claire continues to be a champion for authentic assessments and often has her students working on assignments which build skills needed within the marketing industry such as podcasts, vlogs and presentations to name a few. Claire also works with local SMEs to produce live projects for her students so students can gain valuable practical experience from completing the assignments.

In 2022 Claire became Head of Business which has enabled her to continue to bring modern methods, practical experience and innovative teaching to the next generation of business graduates.
