International Student Community Café

The ‘International Advice Team’ within Student Life host a series of weekly International Student Community Café events supported by colleagues from Student Life, the Chaplaincy and other support services.  The aim of the Café events is to provide a forum for  international students to meet, engage with University services and create a space to support one another.  We have designed a varied calendar of events that are open to all international students at the University.

Events so far have included a guided walking tour of the historic Ipswich Waterfront, followed by a delicious afternoon tea. A poster making activity looking at what international students can expect to find if they choose to study at the University and our December event was exploring ‘Christmas and celebrations around the world’ and making festive decorations. The Careers, Employability and Enterprise team hosted a session to introduce students to job hunting skills and CV creation and the International Advisers in Student Life gave a brief introduction to the Graduate Route visa application process.  International students helped the Sustainability Team tidy up the Wildlife garden and get it ready for Spring. We will revisit the garden this summer to see how our seeds have grown.
