International Student Ambassador Scheme
Help to inspire the next generation of international students at the University of Suffolk by applying to become an international student ambassador.
Purpose of the Job
The Student Ambassador Scheme recruits current University of Suffolk students to support a wide range of recruitment events and activities organised by the Directorate of Marketing, Communications and International.
Student Ambassadors act as role models and motivators to encourage other people to consider higher education and apply to the University of Suffolk. By talking to prospective students, parents, teachers and careers advisors, Ambassadors share their own unique experiences of higher education. This may include any challenges and barriers they have faced and overcome, as well as successes and achievements.
Duties of the post

To promote higher education and the University of Suffolk

To be a competent and professional representative

To maintain a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and be pro-active in initiating dialogue

To support a wide range of events and activities including but not limited to open events, webinars, and student calling campaigns

To conduct tours of the Ipswich campus on an individual basis

To be responsive to updated and new information about University of Suffolk courses and events as provided by the University

To provide clerical and administrative support to the Directorate of Marketing, Communications and International or other departments

To be aware of the internal policies and procedures relating to safeguarding children, health and safety and manual handling

To be involved in student profiles, publications and blogging for University of Suffolk marketing purposes
Important Information
- Hourly rate: £12.82 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay. All activities will be paid at the hourly rate unless specified prior to the event.
- Payment will be on the last working day of each month in arrears on the basis of timesheets authorised by your line manager and submitted to the payroll office.
- The University of Suffolk cannot guarantee a set number of hours per week
- Hours of work are based upon when internal and external events occur - this can be during the day, evenings or weekends and in and out of term time. Ambassadors are invited to sign up for work each week and are selected according to suitability, experience, availability and reliability.

- Successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview on Wednesday 23rd October 2024 on the Ipswich Campus.
