We have compiled some frequently asked questions (FAQs) for anyone considering studying one of the Unicaf programmes in partnership with the University of Suffolk.
Is Unicaf in partnership with the University of Suffolk?
Unicaf is partnered with the University of Suffolk to offer a range of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, delivered wholly online.
How do I know if the offer letter is genuine?
All communication in relation to the admission onto a course is sent directly by Unicaf. You can contact Unicaf via admissions@unicaf.org to verify any communication you receive.
Will I receive my degree transcripts from the University of Suffolk?
The University of Suffolk will provide you with a HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) issued via Gradintelligence after you have passed your first module on the course. This will be updated with module results after each assessment board throughout the course. On completion of studies, the HEAR will be updated to also show the award achieved. The final HEAR and award certificate will be issued following conferral at the annual graduation ceremonies.
Will I be able to attend graduation at the University of Suffolk?
All University of Suffolk students are invited to attend Graduation which is held annually in October.
Once I have completed my course will I be able to work in the UK?
The Graduate Route post-study work visa is only open to those who have physically studied in the UK under a valid Student Route / Tier 4 visa.
To work in the UK, you will require a work visa. The visa you need depends on your skills and qualifications; if you have a job offer and sponsorship; if you want to bring your family with you; and the type of work you will be doing.
Will there be a difference between other University of Suffolk students and those that studied through Unicaf?
The certificate will look exactly the same as the certificate that would be issued to a student who studied with the University of Suffolk in Ipswich. The HEAR will show that the awarding institution is the University of Suffolk and the institution administering studies is Unicaf.
Will the University of Suffolk treat me as their student during the programme?
While Unicaf will be delivering your programme and will be your main point of contact throughout your studies, you will also be registered as a student at the University of Suffolk. The University will maintain oversight of your programme and your academic progress. You will have access to the University’s electronic library resources to support your studies.
Can graduates apply for a PhD in Public Health or Business Management at the University of Suffolk on completion?
Yes, we welcome applications for PhD level study. Find out more about our postgraduate research offer.
Are the courses fully online?
All courses are delivered online by Unicaf.
Does the degree certificate you receive upon successful completion have the seal of the University of Suffolk only, or of both the University and Unicaf?
The certificate will only have the University of Suffolk logo. It will look exactly the same as the certificate for a student who was registered in Ipswich.
Will the degree certificate indicate that the programme was completed as an online programme?
The certificate does not state that the course was online or that it was with Unicaf. However, the HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Record) records Unicaf as the institution administering studies and the following statement is included in the description of the programme:
“This course is delivered via Unicaf’s online learning platform and adheres to the University of Suffolk’s model for virtual delivery.”
Do admitted students have to compulsorily visit the University of Suffolk campus at any time during the programme?
No, all programme delivery is undertaken online by Unicaf.
Is the MBA accredited with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)?
The online MBA programme delivered by Unicaf does not carry CMI accreditation. However, like all University of Suffolk awards, the MBA degree is validated and recognised globally as a UK Level 7 (Masters) degree.
What assessment regulations will I be subject to?
Masters level programmes will be managed in accordance with the Framework and Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Awards delivered in partnership with Unicaf. Undergraduate programmes will be managed in accordance with the bespoke Framework and Regulations for Undergraduate Awards delivered in partnership with Unicaf.
