Peter Luff

Learning Environment Coordinator with the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

Peter Luff has worked in a number of clinical and corporate roles during his near-30 years of employment within the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT).

As the ‘Learning Environment Coordinator’, he enjoys the responsibility of recruiting the Trust's current staff group into apprenticeships, bringing new apprentices into the service and supporting the development of programmes of learning.

Peter is a key link between his employer and the University and keeps in regular contact to ensure that apprentices are supported in relation to time management of study and work commitments through engagement with managers, coaches and apprentices. Apprentice health and wellbeing is at the forefront of what he does and Peter finds supporting people throughout their apprenticeship pathway incredibly rewarding.

From an organisational perspective, Peter feels that recruiting apprentices to Higher and Degree level study really benefits the Trust. It enables the development of staff into roles where they are most needed, makes effective use of levy funding and demonstrates the value that is put into their workforce. The service and its users benefit from highly skilled and knowledgeable staff that are the future of the NHS.
