University of Suffolk students are being given the chance to present their research work on a public platform for the first time.
The inaugural conference organised by the Journal of Suffolk Student Research will be held on Wednesday 5 March at the University of Suffolk and is open to fellow students, academics, local businesses, and the public.
During the event, undergraduate and postgraduate students will be giving presentations on their research projects and dissertations, while other activities will include poster sessions, keynote speakers, networking opportunities and a prize giving for the best oral presentation and best poster.
The Journal of Suffolk Student Research Conference will be an annual event at the University of Suffolk with the aim of showcasing cutting-edge research, promoting collaboration and engaging with a wide range of audiences.
The conference is being organised by the University’s Dr Rachel Grenfell-Essam, Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Psychology and Associated Routes and Dr Jennifer Coe, Lecturer in Psychology.
“We are excited to hold our first conference dedicated to showcasing student research, bringing it to a wider audience,” said Dr Grenfell-Essam.
“It is a brilliant opportunity for University of Suffolk students to be able to have the experience of presenting in front of an audience and for people to get a real insight into students’ work here – while also supporting our commitment as a civic university to share knowledge and educational opportunities.”
Dr Coe added: “This first experience of presenting in front of a conference audience will be invaluable to students and we look forward to welcoming guests to the day. We hope the day will be engaging for our audience who will also be able to network before and after the presentations and keynote speaker sessions.”
The Journal of Suffolk Student Research is an online academic journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate student research and is available for public view.
The inaugural Journal of Suffolk Student Research Conference is fully booked, however the journal is available free to view by visiting the website here.
