Annual External Examiner Report
Each external examiner will complete an online annual report which makes explicit judgements on particular aspects of the course, as well as providing feedback on good practice, strengths, and innovative features.
Course teams are required to respond to external examiner feedback, with identified actions feeding into course action plans where appropriate. The reports, along with the responses, are approved internally before being shared at Student Voice Forums (or equivalent at partner institutions) and via the OLE. Access to the annual report will be provided to the external examiner via email and should be completed within four weeks of the nearest Awards or Progression Board.
On submission of the report, external examiners will be sent a claim form for their annual fee. Payment of fees are processed monthly, and the claim form usually needs to be submitted by the end of the month in order to be processed in the following month’s payment run.
If you have any queries relating to the annual reporting process or wish to request a copy of the previous year’s external examiner report for your course, please contact eereports@uos.ac.uk.
Expenses
Expenses will be paid where external examiners need to travel for an Assessment Board or another activity related to the role. Please consult the Terms and Conditions of Engagement of External Examiners for further details. The expenses form and supporting receipts/evidence should be submitted no later than two months from the date of the activity.
