Marek Hornak

Marek is a Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Commercial and Academic partnerships overseeing business engagement, academic partnerships, access to student and graduate talent, apprenticeships, CPD, and regional growth. During his 17 years in higher education, Marek led the strategic development and delivery of regional skills and innovation programs supporting business innovation and workforce skills development. Marek developed dedicated programmes embedding students in regional business base through experiential learning enhancing student and graduate employability and impact on business.

Marek's research interest is regional innovation ecosystem and role of the university's students as contributors to business productivity.

Marek led design and development of collaborative knowledge exchange programmes embedding students in knowledge exchange across advanced manufacturing, digital, logistics, Net Zero and innovation. He also developed dedicated incubation and start-up incubator supporting student and graduate start-ups and has experience in managing science parks. Marek's research interest is regional innovation ecosystem and role of the university's students as contributors to business productivity.

 

Marek's portfolio includes academic partnerships in Singapore, Malta, Sri Lanka, Cyprus, Mauritius and Malaysia.
