Professor Helen Pankhurst CBE is an international development and women’s rights advisor to CARE International, working mainly in Ethiopia and the UK. She is a Professor at Manchester Metropolitan University and the first Chancellor of the University of Suffolk and holds honorary doctorates from Edge Hill University and the University of Manchester.
The granddaughter of Sylvia, great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, Helen carries on the legacy e.g. giving talks, being in the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, advising on the film Suffragette and convening Centenary Action and GM4Women2028.
Publications include: Deeds Not Words, the Story of Women’s Rights, Then and Now (2018).
