Dr. Muhammad Waqar is a Lecturer in Computing at the School of Technology, Business and Arts. He completed his doctorate degree majoring in 5G Cloud Networks from Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea. He developed solutions to improve the quality of service in 5G cloud radio access networks to make them commercially deployable. He published research papers in well-reputed journals and international conferences. His current academic and research interests focus on the 5G and beyond networks, cryptography, steganography, malware analysis, and threat intelligence using machine and deep learning.
He has hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining grid and cloud computing facilities at data centres. For this, he has taken the trainings from international institutions. He has more than eight years of teaching and research experience at internationally recognized higher education institutions. He taught the following modules at bachelor’s and master’s levels: computer networks, data communications and computer networks, discrete structures, operating systems, introduction to cyber security, cryptography essentials, advanced topics in cryptography, cryptanalysis and cyber security: defence. He supervised a number of undergraduate final-year projects and graduate thesis in the computing domain. He has expertise in designing and developing syllabus and modules according to taxonomies. He worked as a team lead of various academic and administrative committees. He is also certified in cyber security.
