Godwin is a Lecturer in Computing in the School of Technology, Business, and Arts. He holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Before joining the University of Suffolk, he served as a lecturer at Walter Sisulu University in the Department of Information and Communication Technology. During that time, he was a member of the Community Engagement Team, acted as the Departmental chair for Short Learning Programmes and served as a committee member of the Faculty Research Team.

In addition, he gained extensive experience in curriculum development and the creation of equitable learning environments during his tenure as the head of curriculum and learning at Lifechoices, a Non-Profit Organization that equips youth from low-resourced communities with on-demand coding skills. It was during this period that he authored technical programming textbooks, which are currently recommended texts for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector in South Africa. Alongside his university experience, Godwin boasts substantial expertise in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, having worked as a programming lecturer at the College of Cape Town for over a decade.

In the realm of curriculum development, Godwin actively contributes to the South African TVET sector and collaborates with Coding Bootcamp academies.
