Alessia is currently conducting qualitative research across post-industrial sites and their local communities. Her study aims at deepening the understanding of eudaimonic well-being—how people find meaning, purpose, and fulfilment through their relationship with place and environment.
With a background in architecture and acoustics, she was conferred her PhD for the study of psychological, physiological, and affective human response to sound in everyday contexts. Her work focusses on meaningful places and socially responsible design, moving at the intersection between architecture, health, and environmental science.
Her research interests also extend into the field of healing architecture, with a particular emphasis on how sacred and spiritual sounds contribute shaping environments that support healing and wellbeing through the act of listening.
