Rachel Qualified as a Registered Children’s Nurse from UEA in 2005. Following a period of time supporting children with acquired brain injuries and complex care needs at The Children’s Trust in Surry, Rachel moved back to Ipswich to set up and support care packages in the community for children requiring Long-Term Ventilation (LTV). In 2009 Rachel moved to EACH, starting a career in Paediatric Palliative Care. In 2017 she took on the role of LTV & respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), developing and leading the EACH LTV Service.

Rachel was involved in various research projects within her LTV & Respiratory CNS role, producing abstracts on the development of an LTV Service, and the role of Specialist Care Assistants, which were presented at national & international conferences. Rachel also worked as a case reviewer for NCEPOD. Acknowledging her significant role within clinical education, Rachel commenced her PG Cert in Clinical Education in 2003 before moving in to Lecturing in Health Apprenticeships at UOS in 2004.

Rachels specialist areas of teaching include Child Health, Palliative and End of Life Care, Respiratory management, and delivery of complex care to patients living with Long-Term Conditions.
