Philippa Cansell

Philippa qualified as a midwife in 2015 and went on to work as a caseloading midwife with 121 Midwives. During her experience she facilitated many homebirths and became a hypnobirthing practitioner and three-step rewind therapist. In 2018 Philippa began working as a community midwife at West Suffolk Hospital, spending time in the community and hospital settings. Her passion is with promoting physiological birth and supporting women in their choice of place of birth.

Philippa also works as a research midwife at West Suffolk Hospital and has found a new interest for research delivery and implementation. She continues to work as a researcher and joined the university as a lecturer in September 2022. Philippa is due to start her Advanced Midwifery Practice at Masters level in January 2024.
