Jo has worked in health and social care for 30 years and began her career by training as a mental health nurse in Suffolk. Following this she worked in the NHS in hospitals and the community supporting people with dementia before moving into healthcare management.
Prior to joining charity Sue Ryder in 2002 Jo worked for a housing association in London providing innovative care and support for people with Dementia and complex needs within the community. Since joining Sue Ryder she has enjoyed managing and developing the specialist services offered at The Chantry specialist neurological care centre in Suffolk and has also worked in the business development team establishing innovative new services in both hospices and Neurological care centres. These projects include development of a 24/7 specialist palliative care hub in Bedfordshire, reablement programmes for people with Multiple Sclerosis and more recently a new peri diagnostic dementia service for people in Suffolk, working together with The University of Suffolk on service evaluations for the latter 2 projects.
