Jayne Marie

Jayne has been a midwife since 1998, having trained at Suffolk College in Ipswich. After qualifying, Jayne worked in all areas of clinical midwifery practice before moving into senior midwifery management positions. 

Even after 25 years of practice, Jayne still loves being a midwife. She has also always had a love of governance in clinical practice, investigating when things go wrong and developing systems and processes to prevent risk to women and their babies. Jayne has always had a keen interest in education, working with numerous students in practice and with local Higher Education partners over the years.

Over the past few years, Jayne has taken a step back from management and spent time enjoying being a clinical midwife whilst developing her knowledge and skills in clinical law and education. Over the past two years, she has been working more in education and joined the University of Suffolk in April 2023 as a Lecturer in Midwifery. Jayne is also a Professional Midwifery Advocate and a Civil Law Expert Witness.
