Michael High is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Suffolk Sustainability Institute. Michael is an experienced Environmental Professional and is currently employed as a Sustainability Analyst at Sizewell C, focusing on reducing the impact of the project on carbon and nature.
Michael obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof Paul Fennell (2023). His PhD work focused on the synthesis, characterisation and optimisation of copper-based oxygen carriers derived from hydrotalcite-like materials for chemical looping processes, with a focus on CO2 capture. During his PhD, Michael undertook a placement as a Parliamentary Fellow at the Welsh Parliament where he supported the Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee with scrutiny of Welsh Government policy.
Michael has published multiple peer reviewed papers in scientific journals and has supported the development of research briefings from the Royal Society and Institute of Molecular Science and Engineering.
