India works closely with Academics across the University to identify and drive knowledge exchange activities, establish research and knowledge exchange partnerships, and develop lasting relationships between the University and local organisations. She is responsible for co-ordinating collaborative projects between Academics and Organisations including: consultancy projects, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, public and community engagement activities, and projects funded through innovation funding. She also supports the delivery of the University’s Civic University Agreement commitments and pledges.
India joined the University in May 2021 as Business Development Manager for Crime & Social Justice/History & Heritage, working with both the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Institute for Social Justice and Crime to grow their knowledge exchange engagement. She moved into the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (RKEO) in August 2024 in her current position as Knowledge Exchange Manager.
After graduating from Newcastle University with a BA (Hons) in Sociology in 2013, India spent some time in retail management at John Lewis in Newcastle, before joining British American Tobacco as a Strategy, Planning and Insights Executive at their UK office in London. She then moved into the Marketing team as a Brand Executive, managing national and north-west Europe area projects for products and brands in the UK, Ireland, and Channel Islands portfolios until April 2020.
India relocated back to her home county of Suffolk at the end of 2020, working as a Project Coordinator for a Suffolk based telecommunications company managing projects for different Clinical Commissioning Groups, prior to joining the University.
