Dr Ruta Gada is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Institute of Health and Wellbeing. Ruta has been a Consultant Obstetrician at Ipswich Hospital since 2014. Ruta’s research interests are in high-risk pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes for mother and baby. She helped with introduction of research within maternity services at Ipswich hospital and has been Principal Investigator for NIHR trails at the unit. Working on from this, Ipswich hospital now set up their own studies in maternity.
Ruta is co-supervising a research student at the University of Suffolk who is working on a study of cardiac disorder in pregnancy. Having set up the service, Ruta is the lead for the maternal medicine service at Ipswich hospital, for delivering care to women with complex medical conditions in pregnancy. Ruta also delivers the Birth Choices Clinic for supporting the care of women with previous traumatic birth experiences.
