Please join the University of Suffolk and the Institute of Engineering and Technology on Wednesday 9th April for A Brief History of Telecommunications - Events That Have Changed the World

The presentation will tell the story of how telecoms have developed over the last 150 years by deep diving into some of the key developments. The talk will be given by Roger Ward, MA (Cantab), MSc, MBA, CEng, MIET, MITP, current technical editor of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals Journal. The talk will begin at 7.00pm, with light refreshments available from 6.30pm.

Biography

Roger Ward's career in the telecoms sector spans over 40 years. After graduation, he joined BT and was heavily involved in the pioneering work that resulted in the introduction of digital switching into the UK network. He went on to chair the Board of the California based Multi Service Forum, a consortium of over 30 major network operators and equipment vendors striving to define Next Generation Networks.
