BA (Hons) Graphic Design, Class of 2021
I was able to easily identify all the valuable aspects that the University of Suffolk had to offer. The Graphic Design course provided a well-structured curriculum with a great selection of subjects. However, the course itself wasn’t the only reason I chose to apply to Suffolk. Other important factors included the university’s rankings, employability opportunities after graduation, and its highly educated lecturers. Today, the University continues to climb in the rankings, and I am proud to have earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Suffolk.
Currently, I am working at a design agency as a Graphic Designer, where my main responsibilities include generating creative concepts for advertisements and campaigns. Additionally, I design for major brands and focus on visual communication by tackling complex design challenges, finding innovative solutions, and delivering work that effectively conveys the desired message.
I have greatly benefited from my degree, as it provided me with the opportunity to learn from skilled lecturers and study in a new environment. Having access to the university's facilities and equipment also taught me how to incorporate new methods into my work. After graduating, I returned to Bulgaria, where I began my career as a designer. Earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Suffolk was a significant boost to my early career, as it enabled me to handle briefs independently. Furthermore, the skills I acquired during my studies led me to work for one of the most notable design agencies in Bulgaria.
For me, one of the University's greatest strengths was the way it made students feel noticed and understood. From lecturers to staff members, everything felt natural and genuine. Most importantly, the course offered a well-structured curriculum. Each module provided its own unique exploration. Visual communication, design practices, research and writing, and even the history of design all contributed significantly to the structure of the course. Now, looking back at the Graphic Design program, I couldn't be happier with my decision to study at the University of Suffolk.
All of the connections I made throughout my undergraduate degree shaped my perspective on my profession. Learning about each student's passions, goals, and achievements enriched my understanding of design in the context of the course. This experience later inspired me to actively seek out and engage with the diverse academic opportunities available at the University.
