BA(Hons) Business Management, Class of 2019
I have maintained a strong interest in business studies since GCSE and A-Level years, which led me to pursue my passion at the University of Suffolk in 2016. I graduated with a First-Class degree in Business Management in 2019. I made the decision to continue living at home whilst studying, commuting to Ipswich when necessary for my timetable / extra curricular activities. This worked really well from a financial perspective, allowing me to manage my expenses while maintaining academic and personal commitments.
The BA (Hons) Business Management degree at University of Suffolk attracted me due to its comprehensive curriculum, covering a broad range of modules over three years. The course provided me with a well-rounded understanding of key areas of business such as Employment Law, Managing People and Finance & Data Analysis, equipping me with the knowledge and skills to successfully navigate and shape my career to where it is today.
Over the course of my three years at University I developed a strong interest in digital marketing and e-commerce. My dissertation was centred around how social media influenced the life of the fashion industry. Upon graduating from the University of Suffolk I secured a graduate role at a local office supplies company where I began my Amazon career. Five years later, I have progressed in my career to the position of National Account Manager for the UK & IE working for a global brand on Amazon.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at the University of Suffolk and would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering this institution. The University offers a diverse student body in terms of age and background, and the inclusive teaching environment ensures that everyone feels supported and comfortable. The lecturers would always make time if help was needed, and the university facilities such as the library books, computers, break out rooms were always available when required. From a social perspective, the university is within walking distance to the local town centre for a variety of restaurants and shops and the waterfront location is perfect to relax and unwind.
In the next few years, I plan to return to the University of Suffolk to pursue a postgraduate degree.
